CISCO ATA-186

Connect Cisco ATA 186 to Internet, to power supply and to telephone devices. It is sufficient to have one telephone device, connected to the line No. 1. Telephone device should work in tone dialing mode.

If DHCP is used in your network, Cisco ATA 186 receive an address automatically. To learn what exactly address Cisco ATA 186 is received, it is necessary:

1. Rise the hand set on telephone device, connected to the line 1.

2. Press big button, located on upper panel of Cisco ATA 186.

3. In telephone hand set you will hear an invitation to enter commands.

4. Enter [ 2 ][ 1 ][ # ], after that Cisco ATA 186 will say its IP-address in English.

5. Put the hand set on telephone.

If DHCP is not used in your network, you need to set IP-address and other parameters using telephone set.

1. Rise the hand set on telephone, connected to line 1.

2. Press big button, located on the upper panel of Cisco ATA 186.

3. In telephone hand set you will hear an invitation to enter commands.

4. Dial [ 2 ][ 0 ][ # ][ 0 ][ # ] for disconnection of DHCP, after that Cisco ATA 186 will say in voice entered value and propose to press: [ 1 ] for changing [ 2 ] for repeating [ 3 ] for saving [ 4 ] for return to previous value [ # ] for exit to main configuration menu

5. Enter [ 1 ][ # ][ 1 ][ 1 ][ 1 ][ * ][ 2 ][ 2 ][ 2 ][ * ][ 3 ][ 3 ][ * ][ 4 ][ 4 ][ # ] for entering IP-address 111.222.33.44, than [ 3 ] for saving the parameter. We draw your attention, that instead of 111.222.33.44 you need to enter your IP-address, which was allotted to you by Internet-provider or by network administrator.

6. Enter [ 1 ][ 0 ][ # ][ 2 ][ 5 ][ 5 ][ * ][ 2 ][ 5 ][ 5 ][ * ][ 2 ][ 5 ][ 5 ][ * ][ 0 ][ # ] for entering subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and than dial [ 3 ] for saving the parameters.

7. Enter [ 2 ][ # ][ 8 ][ 2 ][ * ][ 1 ][ 4 ][ 6 ][ * ][ 5 ][ 1 ][ * ][ 3 ][ 2 ][ # ] for entering router address 82.146.51.32 and than dial [ 3 ] for saving the parameter.

Connect to your cisco ata 186 using a web browser and pointing to http://ipaddress/dev where ipaddress is the IP address of your ATA 186. On the displayed web page check that it says Cisco ATA 186 (SIP) Configuration on the top. This confirms that you have a SIP capable Image

Also check on the bottom that the software version is ata0011215a28a8. This means that you have software version 2.15. (2.13 or lower need to be upgraded)
